It just so happens that both the Surface Pro 2 and Surface Pro 3 feature such a processor.
This driver update reportedly offers some impressive benefits for both models according to the release notes from Intel:
- Up to 30 percent improvement in some OpenCL apps
- Up to 10 percent improvement in gaming performance
- Improved battery life
- A new and enhanced control panel that allows you to tweak additional options.
We haven’t performed any benchmark testing yet to measure the exact performance gains these drivers supposedly offer.
You can get the new Surface Pro graphics driver here: Intel 64 Bit Haswell Graphics Driver
As of right now, you will have to manually install the driver otherwise you will receive an error. If you’re still game, simply go to the Device Manager and choose the driver manually.
If you don’t want to risk it – simply wait. The new drivers will eventually make their way into the regular Windows Updates at some point in the near future.
If you are one of the folks who want to give them a shot now and see any gains or problems with these new drivers, please stop back by and let us (and your fellow readers) know.
