This is a review of the Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Mouse:
What: Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Mouse
How much: $22.99
Where: Amazon
Technology: Bluetooth
I recently bought a Microsoft sculpt mouse for myself and want to share with you my impressions.
I’m quite happy with this mouse. Things I really like about it are that it’s Bluetooth and hence does require a USB dongle (and doesn’t take up my only USB port on my Surface) and that it has the Windows 8 button.
I also like the feel of the mouse – it is just right for my hand size and I like the position of the buttons. It is responsive and sleek looking. I am quite impressed with this mouse.
Here are my pros and cons of the Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Mouse:
PROS:
-
Bluetooth – no wires, no dongle
-
4-Way scroll wheel – navigates up, down, left and right
-
Windows 8 Start Button near thumb – i.e. Windows 8 optimized
-
Cool thumb scroll for Windows 8 Gestures
-
Optional haptic feedback
-
Works on all surfaces – Blue Track Technology
-
Nice ergonomic comfort design for right-hand users
CONS:
-
Requires two batteries to function
-
Doesn’t appear to have a left-handed version
Overall, I’d give this mouse 5 stars. I use it with my Surface Pro 3 and I’m very happy with it. If you don’t already have a mouse for your Surface, I would recommend it. If you are interested in purchasing one of these, be sure to get it from Amazon because it’s a lot cheaper than getting it from Microsoft.
