Last night, Microsoft sent out a new firmware package for Surface Books and Surface Pro 4’s to address the annoying screen flickering issues some folks have been enduring.
The screen flicker fix is included in the update titled System Firmware Update – 11/2/2015. It will require a restart once applied. The package includes the following individual patches for both models:
- HD Graphics 520 driver update (v20.19.15.4308)
- Display audio driver update (v8.20.0.659)
- Surface Embedded Controller Firmware update (v103.855.257.0)
- Surface Pen Settings driver update (v10.0.302.0)
None of the patches seem to address the Windows Hello battery drain or slow wi-fi issues some folks have been reporting, so I imagine there’s at least one more set of patches coming in the near future.
Anyway, if you haven’t received them already, go into your Windows Updates settings and check for updates to get the screen flicker fix for your SP4 or Surface Book.
