The Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 both come with a new glass-finished trackpad that is both large and smooth. Unfortunately, some folks have noticed an annoying lag if you try to scroll up or down webpages when using trackpad gestures.
Microsoft is working on a fix. In the meantime, there’s an easy workaround that will reduce the scroll lag.
Surface Trackpad Lag: How To Fix it
Follow these steps to work around the scroll lag issue:
- Type in Mouse & Touchpad into the search bar.
- Roll down till you find the Use a two finger pinch to zoom setting.
- Change the feature from On to Off.
The downside to this fix is that, once you make the change, you will need to use the touchscreen to pinch and zoom.
Hopefully, Microsoft will address the trackpad lag issue with an update to the touchpad driver or firmware in the near future.
