A Year in Review for Surface Tablets 2013

For this post, we’re going to break from our usual how-to’s and take a look back at the trials and tribulations for Surface tablets in 2013.

2013 was a big year for Microsoft and the Surface. It saw the release of the Surface Pro, Windows 8.1 and the Surface 2/Pro2.

It also saw the launch of a little site called Love My Surface.

Of course, it wasn’t all good. Along with the good (as so often is the case) came the bad. There were reports of WiFi issues, lack of apps in the store, fraying keyboards, lagging sales, problems with Gmail access, lawsuits, and battery drain issues.

So, below is a short timeline of 2013, as it related to the Microsoft Surface. I hope you find it interesting and informative. [also, I’d like credit for not making a slideshow 😉 ]

Looking ahead to 2014, we think that the Surface will really take off and come into it’s own with the Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 showing strong sales and improved accessories like the power cover and docking station. We believe the LTE model Surface 2 due out this spring will really do well – Joanna is waiting for it. The (rumored) 7.5″ Surface Mini will round out the line and give users a rich array of tablet computing choices.

We also wouldn’t be terribly surprised to see a Surface 3 line come out (or at least be announced) at the end of 2014.

And we’ll be here too. We’re planning on writing more how-to’s and reviews. We’re also planning to do more videos and e-books. We are planning on improving the reply section and, just maybe, add a forum 🙂

As always, we’ll be looking forward to hearing from you along the way. We want to encourage you to reply with your feedback and experiences. And don’t hesitate to let us know any topics you’d like covered.

Thanks and Happy New Year!

Tim & Joanna
