Warning: Microsoft recently said that you should not Install Windows 10 on Surface 3 Tablets in their Community Forum.
Of course, they’re referring to the current Technical Preview version of Windows 10 (Build 10074).
Do not Install Windows 10 on Surface 3 Tablets: Why?
It’s really pretty simple. It’s because Microsoft did not include specific drivers for the Surface 3 with the 10074 build.
Now, apparently, some folks are getting around this by downloading the Windows 8.1 drivers from the Surface 3 launched); however, since these aren’t really Windows 10 drivers, they might not work for you.
Do not Install Windows 10 on Surface 3 Tablets: OK, When Will They Include Drivers?
No one seems to know. One of the community moderators said “Timing of availability for drivers is unknown as Intel is still working on the needed drivers for the new chipset and processors.”
So, I guess we are waiting on Microsoft and Microsoft is waiting on Intel to get this mess straightened out.
If I were to guess, the next version of the Tech preview will have the drivers for Surface 3 tablets included.
