Tip of the Week: How to Turn OFF Surface Keyboard Text Suggestions
You may have noticed that the Surface keyboards (both Touch and Type Covers) offer text suggestions as you type. It is a feature that helps you enter words quickly and correct misspellings just like on many smart phones and you may find it quite useful.
But occasionally, things go awry with the feature or perhaps you simply find it annoying and you want to turn it off.
Here’s how to do it:
1. Go to Settings – swipe from the right of the screen or click upper-right corner of the screen.
2. Tap Change PC settings
3. Tap PC and devices
4. Tap Typing
5. Under Show text typing suggestions as I type, change the setting to OFF.
You can also turn off Spelling Autocorrect here in the same way, as well as other keyboard settings like playing key sounds and highlighting misspelled words.
That’s it! That is all you have to do to turn off Surface keyboard text suggestions.
