At this week’s Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona, Spain Microsoft claimed the prize for Best Mobile Tablet thanks to the Surface Pro 3.
Microsoft’s win shows that its 12-inch Windows tablet has built a solid fan base, and that’s quite impressive considering all the competing tablets that have been released in the last year.
Microsoft’s hybrid tablet prevailed over such competition as the the Apple iPad Air 2, Samsung Galaxy Tab, Google Nexus, and Sony Xperia Tablet.
Here’s what Dennis Meinhardt, director of program management for Microsoft Surface, had to say about the Surface Pro 3 winning this award:
We’re absolutely thrilled to be winning this award. Surface Pro 3 is the world’s most productive tablet, and is a tablet that can replace your laptop. With Surface Pro 3 we have managed to marry the hardware and software to provide the power and performance of a full laptop without compromising the sleek design, lightness, and great battery life that we expect from a tablet.
I think this is great news as it shows that the computing industry is starting to acknowledge the excellent products Microsoft is producing and that will help encourage them to keep producing and improving the Surface line.
What do you think of the Surface Pro 3 winning the award for best mobile tablet? Is it deserved or not?
